Learn to Love In-Class Essays

Don't let that final in-class essay get you in a panic.


Come to the Writing Center's 
In-class Essay Workshop
to learn tips and techniques to prepare you for your final writing exams.

Don't Forget to Proofread!

As you work on wrapping up your final papers and projects, don’t forget the last step before you hit “print”—proofreading!

Proofreading tips and techniques:
  1. Read your paper aloud or have someone read it to you.
  2. Print out a copy of your essay and read it with a pen in your hand. 
  3. Read it sentence-by-sentence backwards.
  4. Read with a focus on one particular issue at a time. 
  5. Set your paper aside for a few hours and proofread with fresh eyes.
  6. Come to a Writing Center workshop on grammar and punctuation to get practice identifying and editing grammar issues in your writing.

3 Weeks to Go!

That’s right Mt. SAC! It’s week 12,
